While we hope none of us need to use self-defence moves, knowing how to deal with a situation where we might need it, can make us feel more confident and self-assured
Join us for a workshop self defense, you will learn some basic techniques that enable you to defend yourself against an unexpected attack. These techniques help in building self-confidence and are based on Japanese Ju-Jitsu.
Learning self-defense skills through martial arts encourages you to step out of your comfort zone. No matter if you’re brand new or experienced in Jiu-Jitsu, in each class, you’ll probably find yourself in a new and slightly uncomfortable position. That’s okay! The more practice you have with new positions, the more comfortable you get with being uncomfortable. Which means that if you ever find yourself in an uncomfortable situation, you’ll have more experience in how to deal with it effectively.
The techniques include knowing how to evade an attack, yielding to an attacker in order to gain control of and neutralize them, and releasing yourself from an attacker’s grasp.
In addition, during the workshop, there will be the space to cover topics such as prevention and awareness of the surroundings.
The teacher, Martina Lucchesi, has more than 20 years of experience in martial arts and she creates a safe and comfortable space for people to train.
