Mattias Beijmo is an author, digitization expert, and lecturer with over 20 years of experience working with data, digitization, democracy, and society at the highest strategic level. Few in Sweden have worked on analyzing Swedes’ digital behaviors and have been hired for strategic advice on digitization for as long as Mattias Beijmo. Audiences around the world have been amused and disturbed by his lectures, which passionately clash all the possibilities of internet development with stories from those who have experienced the backside of digitization.

When Mattias himself saw the deadly consequences of the technologies he used to analyze innocent data, he had an awakening and wrote the reportage book “They can’t stop us”, a book about digital activism. Yes, Mattia’s lecture is an awakening and highlights concerns, but it also has a hopeful message that the digitization of society and the world has enormous democratic potential!
