Meet our member: Propely

Propely is a prop-tech company that offers a consolidated platform for everything a landlord needs to run their estates smoothly. They are also a valued member of the Epicenter community. We had a chat with their CEO and Founder, Kristoffer Moe Lundquist, to learn more about who they are and what their plans are:

Could you please introduce Propely and your team?

Propely was founded back in 2019 to develop the property management platform for tomorrow’s real estate industry. The platform ensures seamless interaction, documentation and compliance in the management of real estate.

The company consists of a combination of young entrepreneurs who dare to challenge a conservative industry, as well as skilled professionals with several years of experience from the property industry, sales and technology.

How and why was Propely founded? What problems or challenges did you see in the world that you wanted to solve?

The company was founded as an initiative from the industry, challenging the founders to tackle the challenges they experienced. They were in need of modern tools to help them efficiently manage their properties, with a seamless flow of communication and building information and data available everywhere.
Propely (prev. Eiendomsappen) was then developed as a user friendly platform, ultimately aiming to increase tenant satisfaction, optimize property management and cut costs.

What’s the biggest impact you have seen on both your customers and the industry you work in?

The biggest impact we have seen is a more efficient management, drastically reducing costs for our customers. A case study we did, found that our customers were able to grow their portfolio quicker, because they cut down on time-consuming and repetitive management tasks.

As well as that, we have seen a trend of growing tenant satisfaction for our customers, which is perhaps the most important impact we work for.

What challenges have you faced along your journey and what are your biggest learnings?

The biggest challenges we have faced so far, would have to be balancing the time/resources spent on tech vs. sales, finding the correct people to join our journey and to remain focused on our primary product scope.

We are constantly trying to nail our focus, to stay agile, efficient and quick. Realizing after a while that we can’t grab every sales opportunity because it deviates from our vision, was a hard bite to take in the beginning. Nonetheless, it has been a crucial experience to learn how to prioritize properly.

How do you work with innovation within your organization at large?

In order to stay innovative we are constantly involving the whole organization when discussing directions and priorities, so that we can have a big variety of competence and experience present. We try to facilitate personal growth and having this time for everyone to develop themselves and their skills comes in handy when we are constantly trying to innovate.

What’s in the pipeline that you’re working on?

We are currently about to start an extensive hiring-process, aiming to more than double the size of our team within the next 12 months. This will be a difficult, but highly rewarding process, that will greatly benefit our customers and rig the company for the future growth.

Additionally, while our product will never be finished, we are currently at a point where we feel we need to grow our product vision. That is why we are currently working to create a partner-network together with other rapidly-growing proptech companies, in order to connect the fragmented market together. This will greatly benefit our customers and further expand our product.

Why did you choose to work at Epicenter?

The reason why we choose to work at Epicenter comes down to the great community. From the first day we were on a tour here, we could feel a breathing space where people across companies came together to create something special. The staff is excellent, warm and welcoming, hosting weekly events for the members. This, in addition to modern spaces and a great location, makes for the perfect office for Propely in our current phase.
